- I love Asia. It's a broad statement, but it's true. I speak fair Japanese and study Mandarin, as well. Most of my knowledge surrounds Japan, but I'm interested in all Asian cultures--which includes their music!!! (However, I haven't been listening to much Asian music lately for some reason...but I always end up coming back to it). I've been listening to Christine Miguel since Fullmoon! I love her witty broadcasts and personality, not to mention the hilarious news tidbits. XD
A few more "Asian" things about me: I draw manga-style art, and I used to be an otaku. And I go to heaven when I'm in Asian markets like Uwajimaya, Fubon, and H-Mart (Japanese, Chinese, and Korean markets, in that order).
I'm also a tour guide at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden in Portland, Oregon. Therefore, I know a fair amount about Ming Dynasty China, and lot about Ming literati (scholars), and about traditional Chinese art, poetry, aesthetics, architecture, culture, history, and Daoism.
I love learning Asian languages, and I plan to master Japanese, Chinese, and Korean before I die, but hopefully a few more plus Russian. If you're looking for a Japanese language buddy, let's chat! And if you're a beginner in Mandarin, let's help each other! :D
